Cuban eastern province to host important Magic Festival

LAS TUNAS, Cuba, Nov 21 (ACN) Recovering the competitive character that traditionally characterized the National Magic Festival Anfora is the main motivation of its 28th edition, an event that will be held November 23-26, in this city, and the only one of its kind in Cuba and Latin America.

The Anfora, although it did not stop being held, since 2019 did not have the original format that its creator, Jose Reynerio Valdivia (magician Piter), gave it; now the contest returns to modalities such as Big and Small Illusions, Card Magic, Comic Magic, Manipulation and General Magic.

According to what was announced at a press conference, this edition of the festival will include the participation of around 65 magicians from different provinces and four Mexican guests, in addition to being dedicated to artistic director Juan Raul Velazquez Quintana and paying an important tribute to Maria Ibanez, the magician Merlina.

Rodelay Leon Figueredo (magician Rudy), in his role as president of the festival and director of that province's company Huracan Magico, said that the program includes, in addition to the competitions, theoretical spaces, magic shows, performances in theaters, communities and other initiatives.

This Festival will officially start on November 23 with a pilgrimage to the grave of Mago Piter, who died in 2016, and then live the traditional parade with the popular epithet: "Magic City of Cuba".
