Eastern Cuba hosts as of today the 28th Ibero-American Culture Festival

HOLGUIN, Cuba, Oct 24 (ACN) With a rich program of activities that includes concerts, exhibitions, artistic brigades of solidarity and a day of archeology, the 28th edition of the Ibero-American Culture Festival is being held in Holguin from today until October 30.

This event, organized by the Casa de Iberoamerica, gathers every year in the city artists, promoters and researchers around the traditions of the region and will recall, as a central theme, the three decades of the cultural debate around the mutual meeting between America and Europe in 1492.

Ernesto Angulo, member of the Organizing Committee and deputy director of the Casa de Iberoamerica, told the Cuban News Agency that this edition of the Festival will be attended by more than 15 nations and delegates from several provinces.

Among the most important activities of this event, which will be held in person and online, are concerts, the traditional parade from El Quijote Park to the Casa de Iberoamerica, the Iberian Cultural Center in the Provincial Museum La Periquera, the Iberocuento event and the Fiesta Campesina.

This year the Festival is dedicated in a special celebration to the 530th anniversary of the meeting of two cultures, the centenary of the Provincial Concert Band and Antonio Nuñez Jimenez, the 60th anniversary of the newspaper ¡ahora! and the 30th anniversary of the founding of the contemporary dance company Codanza.
