Cuba hosts 18th International Circus Festival

SANTAGO DE CUBA, Cuba, Sep 2 (ACN) The 18th International Circus Festival Circuba 2022 began with a gala full of colors, magic and talent at the Heredia Theater in Santiago de Cuba (eastern Cuba), an event extended until September 4.

Milagros Luis Alonso, director of the National Circus of Cuba, told the press how pleased she was that the event is being held in this city for the first time and that it will host artists from Colombia, Germany, the United States, Spain, Japan, Italy, Belarus, Chile, Canada, Ghana, Peru and Mexico.

On this occasion, the presentations will pay tribute to the 60 years of the presence of the Soviet Circus in the country and especially in Santiago de Cuba, a province with a long trajectory in this art.

The jury, made up of distinguished personalities of the national and foreign circus scene, will award prizes to the best show, outstanding artists in scenic design, photography and art criticism.

Created in 1981, Circuba is the third oldest festival of its kind in the world and contributes to the promotion and preservation of circus of high esthetic level and high quality.
