GUANTÁNAMO, Cuba, Apr 26 (ACN) Critics in this province described as successful the Growing up Reading campaign promoted by the Grafomanía Literary Project to cultivate reading habits among people of all ages and promote a number of local, national and foreign authors.
Readings of texts, video poems and articles on the benefits of literature at any stage of life, as well as the dissemination of advertising infographics, were also part of an online program designed as an alternative to reach readers in times of pandemic without detriment to the health protocols.
Opened on April 23 through Facebook, Whatsapp and Telegram, the event offered an assortment of choices such as the children's section La magia de la lectura (The magic of reading) and the workshop Página en Blanco (Blank Page), one of the first actions with an international scope set in motion within Grafomanía to develop values and skills and venture into literary and artistic genres.
The project is named after a short story by Virgilio Piñera published in 1957. One of its best achievements since day one is the assistance they provide to young creators whose work is still unpublished.
