Cuba sends greetings to China for Beijing book fair

HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 29 (ACN) Cuban minister of culture, Alpidio Alonso, sent a fraternal greeting to the Chinese authorities on the occasion of the celebration, in virtual space, of the 27th Beijing International Book Fair, an event that has Cuba as guest of honor.

On behalf of the Cuban government, the ministry of culture, the Cuban book institute and the writers and artists of the Caribbean country, Alonso also sent greetings to the Chinese cultural authorities, as well as to the hosts of the event, which is exhibiting, for the first time on internet, more than 400,000 works from 68 countries.
The 27th edition of the Beijing International Book Fair has offered valuable materials from Cuba that can be consulted on its web page, in a special section where there are representatives of its main publishing houses.
The website of the event also hosts a number of articles and promotional videos referring to the existing fraternity between both nations, celebrated with a cultural gala broadcast last night by Cuban TV and hosted by the Cuban and Chinese ministries of culture and tourism, with artists and groups from both countries.
The 2018 Havana International Book Fair had that Asian country as its guest of honor, a courtesy that this year reverts to and extends to the 2021 edition, due to the impossibility of carrying out the 2020 edition in all its splendor due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
