HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 3 (ACN) Acosta Danza, a company founded and directed by Cuban dancer Carlos Acosta, will perform from today until April 11, in cities in the United Kingdom, invited by the Dance Consortium, an association of 20 major theaters that seeks to bring the best of international choreographic art to that country.
The show, entitled Evolution, is made up of the choreographies Paysage, Soudain, la Nuit, by Pontus Lidberg; Impronta, by Maria Rovira; the Fauno duet, by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui; and the show Rooster, created by the British artist Christopher Bruce, using music from the legendary band The Rolling Stones.
The tour includes the cities of Southampton, Cardiff, Bradford, Brigthon, Canterbury, Salford, Plymouth, Newcastle and Nottingham.
A specialized British newspaper stated that "from the moment that ballet superstar Carlos Acosta called our attention to his new Cuban company, a little more than four years ago, it was clear he had chosen the best among Cuba's excellent dancers.
Since its foundation, in 2015, Acosta Danza has had the aim of performing dance shows in full accordance with the most current notions being developed in the world, not only in terms of body movement, but in everything related to the stage.
