 Cuban Salas for gold in Russian wrestling tournamentHAVANA, Cuba, May 2 (acn) Cuban freestyler Reineris Salas (97 kilos) will climb today to the mattress in search of the gold medal in the 2019 Ali Aliev Memorial International Wrestling Meeting, based in the Russian city of Kaspiysk.

Salas, twice world runner-up, will face in the final Uzbek Magomed Ibragimov, Rio 2016 Olympic bronze medalist, according to the official website of the contest.
Despite none of them reached the finals, Yowlys Bonne (61), Budapest 2018 world monarch; Franklin Maren (70), third in that same tournament; as well as Reineri Andreu (57), 2017 U23 universal champion; were other Cubans who participated in this event, which is attended by universal medalists.
The Ali Aliev Memorial International Meeting is the fourth competition of the season for the Cuban freestyle wrestlers, who also attended the Krasnoyarsk Grand Prix, in Russia, last January; the Granma Cerro Pelado International, in Havana (February); the team World Cup, in Russia (March) and the Pan-American Championships, in Argentina (April).
