Cuban women reaffirm their commitment to the homeland

HAVANA, Cuba, April 28 (ACN) Shouting “Long live the Revolution! Down with the blockade!”, members of the Cuban Women Federation  (FMC) community known as “La Genetica,” located in the Playa municipality, reaffirmed their commitment to continue defending the country by signing a declaration for the homeland.

uring the ceremony, Dr. Dayli Remon del Risco read the declaration of the FMC, which, according to her, emphasizes that Cuban women are signing for peace, drawing on the history they have shaped.

Speaking on behalf of the FMC members, Remon del Risco stated that their commitment to the Revolution is not merely rhetorical or circumstantial, but rather grounded in the dedication of those who have given their lives for freedom.

She emphasized that, as successors to the work of Vilma Espin and Mariana Grajales, they will always be ready to defend the country's achievements and dignity at any cost, because Cuban women have never backed down in the face of injustice.

In exclusive statements to the Cuban News Agency, Liudis Garcia Hernández, a researcher at the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology and secretary of the FMC for a local branch, expressed that as Cubans, it is necessary to raise their voices in favor of sovereignty, especially now, when imperialism is increasing its hostility toward the nation.

As a woman of science, Garcia Hernandez denounced the effects of the U.S. blockade imposed on the island in that field, which, in her words, prevents full scientific development, an essential element for providing a better quality of life for the population.

Ania Cabrales, a member of the secretariat of a FMC delegation in the neighborhood, told the Cuban News Agency that Cuban women always contribute to the Revolution in any situation and that, in the current context, it is necessary to continue doing so for Cuba.

She added that signing for the Homeland means supporting a political process that has always protected women's rights and seen them as a pillar in the transformation of society.

This meeting, which included members of the Federation of Cuban Women and local residents, was led by Teresa Amarelle Boue, a member of the Political Bureau and general secretary of the FMC, along with members of this structure at the national, provincial, and municipal levels, as well as representatives from other political and mass organizations.
