Cuba to host 4th National Cybersecurity Forum

Havana, Nov 18 (ACN) — Under the slogan “Cybersecurity for All,” Cuba will hold the 4th National Cybersecurity Weekly Forum from November 20 to 30, with an inclusive and participatory approach, and organized by the Ministry of Communications (Mincom).

Micom’s Institutional Communication director Cecilia Valdés announced on Tuesday that the event will count on the participation of various Cuban central government agencies, as well as academic, business, and social institutions committed to digital security.

The meetings aim to raise public awareness about the importance of cybersecurity in daily and professional life, promote good digital practices across all sectors, strengthen a culture of prevention and data protection within Cuba’s digital ecosystem, and highlight national progress in this field, she said.

Valdés highlighted several activities, including morning assemblies, technical workshops on critical infrastructure protection, incident management, and current regulations, as well as cyberattack response drills in key entities.

She also noted that a National Cybersecurity Workshop will take place on November 27 and 28 at the Central Computing Palace.

There will also be campaigns on digital social networks and institutional websites, as well as television, radio, and film segments, educational talks in schools and universities, and efforts to promote the use of national platforms.
