HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 29 (ACN) The Foreign Ministers of Cuba, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, and Venezuela, Yvan Gil, led a large gathering at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York, called Latin America Speaks and attended by members of the U.S.-based Cuba solidarity movements and supporters of the island.
In his speech, Rodríguez Parrilla praised the support of African-Americans to the Cuban cause and the historic support it has received from Harlem and called for an end to Israel’s war and its crimes in Gaza and a free Palestine.
“What can we do? Of course, what we can do is march together. (…) A better world is possible, but we need to fight,” he remarked, not without making reference to the impact of the U.S. blockade of the island and urging U.S. authorities to remove Cuba from the list of state sponsors of terrorism.
Let Cuba live in peace, was the repeated demand of the rest of the speakers at the event, which was closed with a performance by the Cuban children's theater troupe La Colmenita that which literally made everyone get up and dance.
