HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 28 (ACN) Esteban Lazo, president of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State of Cuba, held today a meeting with the president of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly (Senate) of Russia, Valentina Matvienko, as part of her official visit to the Eurasian nation.
As reported by the Cuban Parliament on its website, during the exchange both parties highlighted the close relations between the two legislative bodies.
The program of the parliamentary leader's visit, which began on Tuesday, includes official talks with Russian authorities, as well as her participation in the 2nd Session of the Commission for Collaboration between the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the National Assembly of People's Power, along with her counterpart Vyacheslav Volodin.
Upon his arrival, Esteban Lazo attended the traditional homage ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow, as a tribute to the heroes who defeated fascism.
