HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 19 (ACN) The topic of foreign investment in Cuba took center stage at the 2nd International Forum of the 15th Trade Fair Salud para Todos [Health for all] held in this city with companies from more than 40 countries and Cuban suppliers and entities pursuing new business opportunities.
The panelists of the 2nd Forum agreed that Cuba is a good choice for investment and a safe, stable market aligned with far-reaching transformations of state enterprises that make them more efficient and autonomous, whereas representatives of the Chamber of Commerce highlighted the country's current regulatory framework, highly qualified human capital and scientific and biotechnological breakthroughs, as well as the progress of projects in the Mariel Special Development Zone.
Specialists remarked that Cuba’s business priorities lie in the development of renewable energy sources, food production, public health and the biopharmaceutical industry, whereas efforts are focused on specialized tourism-oriented clinics with a view to a better quality of life and a self-sufficient, free and accessible health care system.
