HAVANA, Cuba, May 8 (ACN) Mexican president counterpart Andrés Manuel López Obrador wrapped up his working visit to Cuba this Sunday night.
Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel bid farewell to Lopez Obrador at the José Martí International Airport, in this capital.
During his stay in Cuba soil, from May 7 to 8, the Mexican Head of State received the José Martí Order, the highest decoration conferred by the Cuban government.
In an exchange with Díaz-Canel, the distinguished visitor called for an end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States and affirmed that he advocates frank and respectful dialogue.
López Obrador rejected the exclusion of Cuba from the Summit of the Americas, to be held next June in the U.S. city of Los Angeles.
This Sunday, a cooperation agreement was also signed between Cuba and Mexico in the field of health, through which both countries will strengthen collaboration through science, technology and innovation.
he visit marked a new stage in the bilateral relationship between both nations in the framework of 120 years of uninterrupted diplomatic relations.
