Cuba and Russia aim to restart flights in September

HAVANA, Cuba, July 30 (ACN) Cuba and Russia are currently negotiating the possible resumption of regular flights by the Russian airline Aeroflot between Moscow and Havana, starting September 15, according to the Cuban embassy to the Eurasian country.

The announcement coincides with the reopening of international tourism in the keys of the archipelago, and the Russian market is one of the largest in terms of the number of visitors to the island, Juventud Rebelde reported.
Aeroflot has scheduled the resumption of regular flights to three Eurasian and African countries as of August 1. The Cuban diplomatic mission to Moscow indicated that charter airlines flying to Cuba have negotiated the opening of their flights.
Since March 27 last, at the beginning of the pandemic, Russia suspended air links with other countries and only maintained repatriation, medical and cargo flights, among others, including some to Cuba for these purposes.
Cuba has its international airports ready and operational, both to receive tourists exclusively and for common activities, and has drawn up a strict health protocol which includes PCR tests to detect COVID-19.
