Foreign Minister reiterates Cuba's commitment to general and complete disarmament


HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 27 (acn) Cuba's commitment to general and complete disarmament, especially nuclear, was expressed in Geneva, Switzerland, by Bruno Rodriguez, Minister of Foreign Affairs, who met today with Tatiana Valovaya, Director General of the United Nations Office in that city and Secretary General of the Conference on Disarmament.

The chancellor informed on Twitter about this meeting and others that he carries out as part of his activities at the head of the Cuban delegation attending the High Level Segment of the 43rd regular session of the Human Rights Council taking place from February 24-28, at the UN headquarters in that European city.
The text of his tweet states: I met Tatiana Valovaya, Director General of the United Nations Office in that city and Secretary General of the Conference on Disarmament, and we agreed on the importance of multilateralism and respect for the UN Charter and I also ratified the commitment to general and complete disarmament, especially nuclear.
Rodriguez´ intense agenda also included meetings with the FMs of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza; Guatemala, Pedro Brolo Vila; and Armenia, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan; and with Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa, Alvin Botes.
¨We continue to strengthen Cuba´s bilateral relations, ¨Rodriguez wrote on the social media.
Particularly fraternal was the meeting with Arreaza, which was also highlighted by the Foreign Ministry of the South American country, noting that Venezuela and Cuba strengthen their brotherhood relations during a bilateral meeting between the top leaders of their diplomacy.
