HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 11 (acn) The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America –Peoples' Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) is now moving towards the development of the Caribbean region, following the signing in Venezuela of several energy and social agreements, the Prensa Latina (PL ) news agency reported.
The projects signed during the 4th extraordinary meeting of the Political Council of the bloc have financing funds of the Petrocaribe energy cooperation initiative and the Bank of ALBA.
In the closing ceremony of the meeting, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro warned that while ALBA invests in the peoples the capitalist centers of power only advocate the destabilization of Latin America and the Caribbean and the plundering of resources in the region.
According to the head of state, the ALBA-TCP seeks to increase the quality of life of the countries of the region: "We all have the right to development and together we can achieve it," cites PL.
The ALBA-TCP is made up by Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Dominica, St. Lucia, Grenada, Ecuador, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda, and St. Kitts and Nevis.
