Cuba Highlights Stance of European Union on Blockade

HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 9 (acn) Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Abelardo Moreno said on Monday in Brussels, Belgium, that the position of the European Union (EU) regarding the island develops positively, the Prensa Latina news agency reported.

The stance adopted by the EU with respect to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States is for us of particular interest, he said at a news conference.
Moreno pointed out that he expects that in the documents of the Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the EU, to be held on June 10 and 11, the European vision regarding the siege against Cuba is reflected.
The Cuban official recalled that the fourth round of negotiations on the Agreement of Political Dialogue and Cooperation between the EU and Cuba will take place in the Belgian capital on June 15 and 16.
In this round, we hope to conclude the chapter on cooperation and go into deeper negotiation of issues related to trade and political dialogue, he stated.
The Deputy Foreign Minister assured that both Cuba and the EU are determined to try to conclude the agreement as soon as possible.
