HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 6 (acn) Authorities from the United Arab Emirates and Cuba expressed interest in considering opportunities in their respective countries to increase economic and commercial exchange and boot sustainable energy development.
During a working visit to Abu Dhabi, the most populated city in the Emirates, Cuban ambassador Enrique Enriquez addressed cooperation strategies with the general secretary of the local Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Humaid Mohamed bin Salem.
The two officials exchanged views on prospects for the development of bilateral relations and agree on actions to take advantage of opportunities in both countries to further economic and commercial exchange.
The Cuban diplomat also met with the general director of the Abu Dhabi Development Fund, Saif Al-Suwaidi, on the state of relations between that financial institution and Cuba. The meeting also focused on the implementation of a joint renewable energy project for Cuba sponsored by the Abu Dhabi Development Fund.
The project initiative is part of efforts by the Cuban government to achieve sustainable energy development, diplomatic sources told PL news agency.
