Nigerian President Elect Receives Cuban AmbassadorHAVANA, Cuba, Apr 28 (acn) The president elect of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, received Cuban Ambassador Carlos Trejo on Monday, the island's mission in that country informed.

During their conversation, Buhari and Trejo, agreed on the importance of developing even more the historic ties uniting the Cuban and Nigerian peoples.
The occasion was favorable for the ambassador to convey to the President-elect the congratulations of his counterpart, Cuban President Raul Castro, on the occasion of Buhari's victory in the elections carried out on March 28.
Trejo expressed the island's readiness to undertake actions to strengthen economic cooperation and other areas of importance that may be of interest to the African nation.
President Muhammadu Buhari expressed his admiration for Che, Fidel and the Cuban Revolution leaders and for their struggles and successes.
Present at the meeting were Miriam Morales, second secretary of the Cuban diplomatic representation, as well as a large number of Nigerian media outlets, with which Ambassador Trejo subsequently spoke.
