HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 13 (acn) The United States keeps its sanctions in force against Mexican companies and citizens for having relations with Cuba.
According to Mexico´s Excelsior newspaper, although Washington and Havana have begun a process towards the normalization of relations, the White House keeps Mexican companies on its black list for their relations with Cuba.
The daily recalls that under the US´s blockade of Cuba, US authorities blacklisted companies and citizens from Mexico for trade links with the island, which prohibit them from accessing their bank accounts in the United States, carrying out money transfers, or doing shopping at US commercial centers. They can only spend money in basic services, such as hotels and food, the daily explains.
