Raul Attends Inaugural Ceremony of 7th Summit of the Americas

HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 10 (acn) Army General Raul Castro, President of the Cuban councils of State and Ministers, attended on Friday night the inaugural ceremony of the 7th Summit of the Americas, held at the ATLAPA Convention Center of Panama City.

Cuba is present for the first time in these meetings of hemispheric nature since its first edition in Miami, Florida, in December, 1994, due to the persistent demand of Latin American and Caribbean countries and its process of integration.
Shortly before, Raul Castro, like the rest of the heads of state and government and delegations invited, received the greetings of Panamanian President Juan Carlos Varela.
