Havana, Jan 21 (ACN) The Mexican government said it will take humanitarian action in the face of the cancellation by Washington of the Customs & Border Protection One (CBP One) app, which has left so many stranded people expecting to migrate to the United States.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said that they act in tune with the Mexican constitution and laws, when Mexico affirms its sovereignty, protection, support and solidarity to its nationals and those living in the United States, PL news agency reported.
Addressing the migration crisis and the hostile policy of the new US administration, Sheinbaum said that “we have our own migration policy, and we are a humanitarian government.” If there is a person at the border in the cold weather, we will act in a humanitarian way by not leaving anybody in the open.”
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday morning, the Mexican head of state said that Mexico is acting in a humanitarian way as the country looks at the repatriation of foreigners to their countries of origin.
