Venezuela Breaks Diplomatic Relations with Paraguay

Havana, Jan 6 (ACN) The Venezuelan government broke diplomatic relations with Paraguay on Monday claiming that Paraguayan President Santiago Peña disregarded international law and the non-intervention principle.

An official communique, the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry strongly rejected statements by the Paraguayan head of state and decided to immediately withdraw its diplomatic personal from that nation, in full exercise of its own sovereignty, PL news agency reported.

Santiago Peña repeats a failed practice, which recalls the political fantasies of the extinct Group of Lima, with its ridiculous adventure called Juan Guaido, the communique notes.

Such actions reedit strategies lacking political, legal or social ground, which have ended up in complete failure, reads the communique and adds that it is regrettable to see that governments like that of Paraguay keep submitting their policy to the interests of foreign powers, promoting agendas aimed at undermining democratic principles and the will of the free nations.

The Paraguayan President held an online conversation with former presidential candidate Edmundo Gonzalez, ratifying him his support as winner of the July 28 electoral vote in Venezuela. Lc
