Havana, Dec 16 (ACN) The 66th Nordic Solidarity-with Cuba Brigade, made up of 24 activists from Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Greece and the U.K., was welcomed at Havana’s Friendship Institute (ICAP) as part of friends of Cuba who come here to mark the new anniversary of the Cuban Revolution on January 1st.
ICAP vice-president Noemi Rabaza appreciated the stay of the activists and said that their visit here takes place amidst a complex scenario marked by huge difficulties facing the Cuban people as a consequence of the US economic, blockade of the island nation, and its unjustified inclusion of Cuba on the unilateral list of states sponsors of terrorism, Rabaza stressed.
Danish activist Inge Hogh expressed her colleagues’ satisfaction to once again show their support of Cuba, because they know well the admirable resistance of the Cuban people amidst the adverse realities caused by the US blockade such as blackouts, lack of food, fuels and medicines, add to this the damage inflicted by natural phenomena.
The Nordic brigade members will stay here till January 2nd meeting an agenda that includes tours of historic, cultural and scientific centers, meetings with the people and voluntary work sessions.
