Havana, Nov 12 (ACN) The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) keeps supporting Cuba’s agricultural and ranching sectors to help enhance a sustainable food system.
FAO representative in Cuba Marcelo de Souza told the Cuban News Agency that his agency supports new initiatives with the private sector in tourism in order to help the export-replacement program of the Cuban government, and the increase of local food production for the tourist sector. The setting up of international associations in agriculture is also included in the FAO-Cuba plans.
The initiative also helps empower an alliance between private farmers and scientific institutions, which provides new and sustainable tools to enhance agro-ecological projects.
