HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 24 (ACN) Nguyen Duc Hai, vice president of the General Assembly of Vietnam, who is paying an official visit to Cuba, met with Mirian Marban Gonzalez, Comptroller General of the Republic (CGR), whom he presented with a donation of 10 laptop computers to help the work of her auditing staff.
During their talks, which covered ways of future cooperation, the GCR learned about the main functions of the Vietnamese Supreme Audit Institution, including the supervision of issues such as budget control and other tasks assigned by the Party, government and state as part of their efforts to fight corruption.
On her end, the Cuban official highlighted the similar nature of the GCR’s mission regarding the protection of State resources, with emphasis on prevention and the promotion of internal control at corporate level.
Both parties agreed to strengthen interparliamentary and intergovernmental activity between the two countries and increase their cooperation in the fields of innovation, science and new technologies.
