Havana, Jul 9 (ACN) Representatives of 44 organizations gathered at the Fifth Regional Conference on Population and Development in Latin America and the Caribbean issued a declaration in solidarity with Cuba, in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.
The declaration demands the lifting of the over-60-year US economic, commercial and financial blockade of Cuba, which violates all the Cuban people’s right, including their right to life.
The document also demands the withdrawal of Cuba from the illegal and unilateral US list of states sponsors of terrorism and acknowledges Cuban medical cooperation with other nations.
The Conference was the scenario to reaffirm regional commitments and advance towards the implementation of inclusive and sustainable public policies in crucial areas like full integration with equality, respect and guarantees for human rights, universal access to medical attention, sexual and reproductive health assistance, the eradication of racism and discrimination, the attention to migration and other subjects.
