HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 27 (acn) Dilma Rousseff was reelected in the second round of presidential elections on Sunday with 51, 54 percent of the votes after the counting of 98, 82 of the total, following a close electoral run.
The vote favored Rousseff's proposal to further expand social programs, undertake a political reform and reinforce the fight against corruption.
The election was marked by the confrontation of two opposing projects, the one of the Workers' Party of Dilma Rousseff which guarantees social advancement and development and that of the Social Democracy, which in the past plunged the country into unemployment with low salaries.
During the Rousseff's term of office 36 million Brazilians came out of extreme poverty, while her new presidential period will prioritize the improvement of education at all levels.
