HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 18 (acn) The U.S. Secretary of State, John Kerry, expressed on Friday his gratitude to Cuba for its help in the struggle against the Ebola fever virus.
The head of the U.S. diplomacy made a new call to world actions against the epidemics, in his words at the State Department to the foreign diplomatic corps accredited to the capital of the northern country, the Cubadebate Web site reported on Saturday.
"We see small and big nations speeding up in an impressive way their contribution in the front line" against Ebola, asserted John Kerry.
"Cuba, a country of scarcely 11 million inhabitants, has sent 165 health professionals and plans to send about 300 more," highlighted the Secretary of State.
President Barack Obama had asked European leaders on Wednesday to make "a more important effort" against Ebola.
