UN Expert Praises Cuban Book on Climate Change HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 16 (acn) Myrta Kaulard, representative-resident of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), asserted on Thursday that the book "Impact of climate change and methods of adaptation in Cuba" is an example of the excellent results that can be achieved when there's willingness for integration.

Written in a clear language on one of the greatest challenges humanity is facing, the text reveals the unity between numerous institutions and talented Cuban researchers, said Kaulard during the presentation of the book, which took place at the Blue Coral Hall of Havana's Comodoro Hotel.

Doctor Gisela Alonso, president of the Environment Agency (AMA) and author of the prologue, pointed out that its content describes the state of national resources, their vulnerabilities, effects of climate changes and propositions for adaptation.

The general coordinator of the text, Eduardo Planos, of the Meteorology Institute, explained at the meeting that it's a scientific work in ten chapters, developed in three years by a group of experts of 30 national institutions of geography, economy and society.
