Cuban FM Meets with Counterpart of TogoHAVANA, Cuba, Oct 16 (acn) Bruno Rodriguez, member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met on Thursday in Havana with Robert Dussey, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of the Republic of Togo, who arrived in the island on Tuesday for an official visit.

The Cuban FM described the meeting as important and timely, and reiterated the island's interest to continue the excellent development of relations of solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

Rodriguez thanked Togo for its stance against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by Washington on Cuba, a hostile policy that in this moment is strengthening in the financial sector.

He ratified Cuba's solidarity and cooperation, along with the international community, in the struggle against the Ebola fever virus in African countries, and highlighted that on October 20, the nations that are members of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Americas-Free trade Agreement of the Peoples (ALBA-TCP) will meet n Havana in an extraordinary summit, the focus of which will be the struggle against that terrible epidemic.

Dussey underlined the bonds of friendship with African nations, particularly with his country.

The distinguished visitor conveyed greetings and the admiration of Faure Essozimna Gnassingbe, President of Togo, and praised the quality of the training of Togolese students in Cuba.
