HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 22 (acn) United Nations secretary general Ban Ki-moon met on Sunday with Cuban foreign minister Bruno Rodriguez, who is heading the island's delegation to the high-level segment of the 69 Session of the General Assembly, to open sessions on September 24.
During the meeting, Ki-moon reiterated his thankfulness to Cuba for its rapid response to fight ebola in Africa and asked to forward his message of gratitude to President Raul Castro.
The UN secretary general stressed the need for all countries to contribute to the effort by saying that others should follow the example given by Cuba.
