Ban Ki-moon Calls Raul Castro, Requests More Intl Aid to Stop EbolaHAVANA, Cuba, Sept 11 (acn) Un Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has telephoned several world leaders over the last few hours to request help for African nations hit by the Ebola fever virus, informed his spokesman on Tuesday.

The head of the United Nations spoke, among others, with Cuban President Raul Castro; U.S. president Barack Obama; and the President of France, François Hollande; as well as with British Prime Minister David Cameron; the President of the European Council, Herman Van Rompuy; and the President of Doctors without Borders, Joanne Liu.

On Friday, the U.N. Secretary General publicly warned about the need of taking urgent measures to stop the disease in the region and prevent its expansion at an international level.
