Cuban baseball team suffers third loss in Can-Am leagueHAVANA, Cuba, Jun 13 (acn) Cuba suffered its third defeat in four presentations at the Canadian-American (Can-Am) Baseball League when losing 7-1 to the Quebec Capitales.

The Caribbean side batted just four hits versus the opponent starting pitcher, Mac Acker, who only allowed one unearned run in seven innings, while lefty Ulfrido Garcia, who allowed six hits and four earned runs in two innings and two thirds, took the loss.

Cuban Yurisbel Gracial led the Quebec Capitales offensive when hitting 2 for 4 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored, assisted by his countryman Roel Santos, Adam Ehrlich and Kalian Sams, all with two RBIs per capita.

Now the squad coached by Roger Machado has balance of one win and three losses at the end of the first subseries of its tour of 19 games against teams from the Can-Am League, where it will face, from Tuesday to Thursday, the Trois-Rivieres Aigles.

In the tour of several cities in Canada and the United States, Machado's disciples will continue their preparation for upcoming international commitments, highlighting the match against the American university team, from July 22 to 27 in three Cuban cities.

This will also be the beginning of a long training process for the 4th World Baseball Classic, agreed for March 2017.
