HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 15 (acn) The Cuban badminton player Osleni Guerrero will compete in the second edition of the Jamaica International Tournament, which will host its capital Kingston from March 17 to 20 next, contest that grants 2 500 points for the world ranking.
Guerrero, top seed in the men's individual event, will attend that competition as prelude of the Giraldilla de la Havana, based in this city between March 23 and 27, competition he won last year.
For Osleni, each event is essential in his desire to earn the ticket to the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, which qualifying process on May 1st.
So far this season, the Havana-born athlete won the title in the contest of Guatemala, where he won 2 500 units for the world list, where he appears 58th.
In his most recent performance in a foreign tournament, the International Badminton Cup hosted by Sao Paulo, Brazil, he was eliminated in quarter-finals by Polish Adrian Dziolko.
Guerrero, in his competitive route to Brazil, must also attend the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, the Peru Challenge and the Chile International.
