Cuban Ortix wins silver in Lima Judo Open

HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 7 (acn) Cuba won a silver medal in the final day of the Lima Judo Open, in Peru, through Onix Cortés, who totaled three wins and one loss, the latter in the final against Colombian Yuri Albear.

Cortes defeated Peruvian Karla Delgado, Belgian Roxane Taeymans and Moira De Villiers, from New Zealand, in all cases by Ippon and in that order, but in the fight for the title she lost by the same way to Albear, world champion in 2013 and 2014.

The Peruvian event was attended by 249 judokas -146 men and 103 women from 49 nations.
