LAS TUNAS, Cuba, Oct 20 (acn) The catcher Yosvani Alarcon appears now as homeruns leader of Cuban Baseball championship with 12 when hitting four homers during the double match program against Holguin yesterday at the stadium Julio Antonio Mella, in this city.
Alarcon reached this subseries with seven homers, but in the first game he hit one and with yesterday's four he surpassed Yasser Julio Gonzalez, young outfielder of Pinar del Rio, who has 10 homers.
This total of twelve homers does not include one Alarcon hit against Matanzas, but that game was suspended.
Besides the supremacy in homers, Alarcon, chosen to join the Cuban team in the Premier 12 tournament, is also leader in RBIs with 39, while on batting average he appears among the first hitters with .425.
