Cuban Dominguez ranks fourth in World Blitz Chess Championship

HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 14 (acn) Cuban Leinier Dominguez kept his good performance and appears fourth in the World Blitz Chess Championship after its first 11 rounds in Berlin, Germany.

The Caribbean player, who also finished fourth the segment of rapid games, attacked almost all their opponents to score 8.5 points in the three minutes matches.
Only the French Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Norwegian Magnus Carlsen and Russian Sergey Karjakin appear above Leinier, who reached six wins and five draws yesterday.
Vachier took advantage of Carlsen´s defeat against Karjakin in the final round and is now alone on top with 9.5 units with an almost perfect performance based on a nine wins, one draw and a loss.
To Carlsen, current champion, everything was fine until that loss, because before that he had eight wins and two draws.
That victory allowed Karjakin to achieve eight wins, two losses and a draw, according to www.chess-results.com.
Lazaro Bruzon, Cuba's other player in this strong tourney, totals 6.5 points resulting from five wins, three losses and a three draws.
As with the previous contest, played until Monday, other members of the universal vanguard, like Armenian Levon Aronian , Azeri Teimour Radjabov, Russian Vladimir Kramnik and veteran Israeli Boris Gelfand, are included in it .
The first three of them appear in the seats 5-6-7 in that order with eight points each, and Gelfand was sent to 20th spot with 7.5 units.
Russian Peter Svidler and Hungarian Peter Leko , 22nd and 23rd respectively both with 7.5 units, are others who have not had a good performance so far.
