HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 16 (acn) Housseyni Amion Guindo, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Mali, visited the modern Anti-Doping Control Laboratory and the National Volleyball School in this city, as part of his activities in the official visit to Cuba.
At the lab, the holder and his delegation were received by Dr. Teresa Correa, who offered extensive information on the features and functions of the institution, its importance to sports development in the Caribbean nation and the support offered to several countries worldwide.
During the meeting Amion Guindo showed interest in Malian specialists to participate in courses on doping, and the possibility, from October 2nd, of making drug testing to the junior soccer team of that African nation that will carry out its final training stage in Moron , province of Ciego de Avila, and then will continue trip to Chile, headquarter of the World Cup in that category.
In the National Volleyball School, the minister asked for Cuban technical assistance to develop that sport in his country, and praised the development programs from infant to senior categories, which were explained by Argelio Hernandez, secretary of the Cuban Volleyball Federation.
Upon completion of both tours, the distinguished visitor said he was very impressed by what he saw during his stay in Cuba on sports and noted that he wants to take that experience to his country, where there are many young people who can use their free time in the practice of physical and recreational activities in a healthy and useful way .
Amion Guindo and his companions will conclude on Friday their visit to Havana, but first they will hold meetings with managers of CUBADEPORTES and tours to other sporting institutions.
