HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 24 (acn) Cuban road cycling team, led by Pan American bronze medalist Arnold "El Chiqui" Alcolea, will take part today in the fourth day of the 7th Tour de San Luis, Argentina, consisting in an ITT of 19, 2 km.
Alcolea is the Cuban rider with the best performance in this tournament and appears in the 26 spot in the standings, which is headed by Brazilian Alex Diniz, who belongs to the team Funvic Brasilinvest (12:07.48 hours), according to the official website of the contest.
Besides Alcolea, the other members of the Cuba team are Yasmani Martinez, who is placed 55th , Agustin Diaz (98) , Pedro Portuondo (114), Lisnandy Alonso (125) and Yennier Lopez (146), who will also be involved in a stage that will feature the 163 riders still competing.
Spanish Alberto Contador (14), and British Mark Cavendish (100), who were considered as pre-competition favorites, will try to improve their placing in the standings; while the Kazakh team Astana Pro Team will seek to maintain leadership in the team classification.
