HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 10 (acn) Cuba will compete with four of its main female figures in the qualifying table tennis tournament to the Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada.
The competition will be held at the Argentine city of Buenos Aires from March 22 to 24, where Cuba will try to reach one of the two tickets in dispute in the team event with the experienced Lisi Castillo and Leisy Jimenez, as well as with the young promises Idalys Lovet and Yuneisy Galván, according to the official website of the contest.
In addition, they have the opportunity to gain the berth in the individual event, which will grant four tickets to the northern appointment, to be held from July 10 to 26.
The struggle for qualification will be really hard for the Caribbean players, as several of the leading figures of the area will be present among the 57 participants, representing 14 countries.
Prior to this event, the women will also attend the Latin ITTF Championship, to be held from March 16 to 21 in the same city, which is suitable for subsequent foray into the Pan American qualifying tournament.
The Cuban men's squad is already qualified to the great event of Toronto 2015, due to its good placing in the continental ranking.
