Cuba U-17 Soccer Team to face Jamaica in HondurasHAVANA, Cuba, Mar 5 (acn) The Cuban U-17 soccer team will face Jamaica today, in the third round in Group A of CONCACAF WC qualifying tournament, based at Francisco Morazan Stadium in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

So far, the Cuban players have balance of one defeat and a draw after losing in their debut 5-0 against the United States and then drew 1-1 with Honduras, with goal scored by Raycharles Herrera, thus totaling one point to appear fifth in the poole.

Meanwhile, Jamaicans lost 0-2 against the local squad in their first match, but then beat Guatemala 2-1 showing thus three units and sharing the third and fourth seats with their victims. The group is led by the United States (6), followed by Honduras (4), while Trinidad and Tobago appears on bottom of the standings (0).

After two round s, the side coached by Fidel Salazar is almost obliged to defeat Jamaicans today, looking for one of the four tickets the contest grants for the U-17 World Cup, to be held this year in Chile.

Group B is led by Mexico and Canada, both with six points, followed by Panama (3) Costa Rica (3), while St. Lucia and Haiti are very close to elimination after losing their first two matches.

Cuba has attended two U-17 Soccer World Cups: Scotland 1989 and Italy 1991 under the aegis of Coach Manuel Rodríguez.
