Cuban Guerra to Debut in Time Trial Event in World Track Cycling ChampionshipsHAVANA, Cuba, Feb 19 (acn) Cuban Lisandra Guerra will debut today in the women's 500m time trial event, during the second competitive day of the World Track Cycling Championships, based in Paris, capital of France.

For Cuba, this will be one of the modalities favorable to access the awards podium, as it is one of the favorite of the world multi-medalist and in which she has obtained her main outcomes, Hector Ruiz, cycling national commissioner, told ACN.

The other event that can provide medals to the Caribbean island is the omnium, starting this Friday and in which Marlies Mejias appears as one of the leading candidates after appearing in the fourth seat in the world ranking, with 245 units .

Besides these two runners, Cuba arrived at Paris Saint-Quentin velodrome with the experienced Yoanka and Yumari Gonzalez, Yudelmis Dominguez and Arlenis Sierra, several times Pan American champion in the specialty of road.

Precisely, the quartet made up by Yoanka-Yumari-Domínguez and Mejias was eliminated yesterday after finishing thirteenth in the qualifying round, with discreet time of 4: 36,100 minutes.
