Cuba´s Domadores Still Undefeated in World Series of Boxing

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 16 (acn) The Cuba Domadores will receive next Friday the British Lion Hearts consolidated at the top of Group A of the 5th World Series of Boxing (WSB), after celebrating its fifth consecutive success with a 4-1 win over the Mexico Warriors.

Arlen López, Yasnier Toledo, Andy Cruz and Erislandy Savon took the best part in Aguascalientes Olympic Gymnasium which also hosted the first loss of Rolando Acebal´s pupils, conceded by the young Joahnys Argilagos.

The middleweight Lopez was better on all fronts to repeat the 3-0 win experienced in the final of the 22nd Central American and Caribbean Games at the expense of Misael Rodriguez and shortly after light welterweight Toledo, twice world silver medalist, did the same against Raul Curiel .

Toledo had left him in bronze medal in that competition and again responded to expectations in the last fight of an evening where his team now achieves 15 units, with balance of 24 wins and only one loss.
The featherweight Cruz combined effectiveness in attack and defense to neutralize Brian Gonzalez, thus successfully debuting in these scenarios.

The Cuban runner up r eplaced the Olympic champion Robeisy Ramirez and passed the exam of debuting at the first level with a nice demonstration also forged from mobility and technical resources.

The other positive note had arrived since Friday because Daniel Paniagua was not present at the weighing and cruiser Erislandy Savon remained unbeaten without climbing the ring.

As for the young Argilagos , 2013 World Junior champion, the Pan American champion Joselito Velazquez imposed his greater experience to beat him 3-0 after leading the initiative based on an ongoing push where he hit better, and was supported by a public that has him as idol.

The presentation of the current champions before the British squad will be at the Sports City Coliseum of Havana in the categories of C2 format (flyweight, lightweight, welterweight, light heavyweight and super heavyweight).
