Cuban baseball manager Ousted for Rest of the Season

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 12 (acn) Jit digital newspaper published today the following note from the Cuban National Baseball Direction.

The incident occurred the night of December 10, 2014 in the match Industriales-Pinar del Rio, at Latinoamericano Stadium, which ended in forfeit to the latter, led an analysis by the National Baseball Direction resulting in disciplinary measures.

Taking into account the nature of the infringement, the concurrent and aggravating circumstances, the Disciplinary Committee, after determining the violation of Article 13 of the Disciplinary Regulations of the 54th National baseball series, passed judgment:
One: Suspending Alfonso Urquiola Crespo, Pinar del Rio´s head coach, for the remainder of the current qualifying stage of the 54th National Baseball Series, by considering him responsible for indiscipline committed by the team.
Two: Public warning to Julio Candelaria Milian, Pinar del Río´s baseball commissioner, for not taking the right attitude in accordance with his functions within the team.
The measures correspond to the unsportsmanlike conduct of Pinar del Río team by leaving the playground without the conclusion of the game.
These offenses attempt against our major cultural and sporting event: baseball.
Acts as those have no place in our national sport, so they will be vigorously combated.
