HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 20 (acn) The Cuban U-17 soccer team debuts today against Guadalupe in the Caribbean final phase, which involves eight squads and it is underway in Haiti.
Cubans and Guadeloupians appear in Group A along with Martinique and Jamaica, while the Poole B key includes Trinidad and Tobago, St. Lucia, Barbados and Haiti.
As reflected in the official site of the North, Central American and Caribbean Football Confederation (CONCACAF), the top two teams of each group will get tickets for the final stage of the world cup qualifying tournament, to be held in Honduras, in 2015.
After this match against Guadeloupe, the Cuban squad, coached by Fidel Salazar, will face Martinique on November 22nd and two days later their rival will be the favorite team of Jamaica.
Salazar's main player is the central defender Carlos Borromeo, who scored three goals in two games in the first round played at Pedro Marrero Stadium, in Havana.
The Cuban starting line-up could be: Lázaro García as goalkeeper, Carlos Borromeo, Daniel Morejon, Jeffrey Delgado and Omar Romero (defenders), Jansiel Blanco, Ray Charles Herrera, Eduardo Puga and Serguei Campillo (midfielders), while Carlos Sebrango and Yosniel Gonzalez would be the attackers.
