HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 16 (acn) Cuba appointed 50-year-old Antonio Eduardo Becali, a Doctor of Sciences and rector of the University of Physical Culture and Sports, as new president of the National Sports, Physical Education and Recreation Institute in replacement for up-to-date president Julio Christian Jimenez.
According to the announcement by the Cuban television, Wednesday evening, the Cuban Council of State, on the proposal of its president Raul Castro, approved to release Christian Jimenez from his post as president of the institute, which he headed for the past nine years.
The announcement adds that Julio Christian Jimenez will be assigned other responsibilities.
