HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 20 (acn) Cuban soccer team is already in Panama, where they will play today a friendly match against the host squad at Rommel Fernandez Stadium as training for the upcoming Caribbean Cup.
As appreciated in the past performances of the team, coach Walter Benitez could opt for the goalie Diosvelis Guerra, along with the defenders Jorge Luis Corrales, Renay Malblanche, Yasmani López and Yenier Rosabal.
The midfielders would be the veteran Yenier Márquez, Alberto Gómez, Ariel Martinez, Tomás Cruz and Yanniel Martínez, while Yoandir Puga, last season's leading scorer, would serve as forward.
Benitez´s disciples will try to take revenge for the 6-1 defeat suffered in the last game between the two teams, in the USA 2013 Gold Cup quarterfinals.
Three days later, the Cuban squad will face Guatemala at Mateo Flores Stadium.
Cuba is the current monarch of the Caribbean Cup, which next edition will be held in Jamaica, from November 6 to 16 and will grant tickets not only for the 2015 Gold Cup, but also for the 2016 America Cup.
