Both Cuban Teams Win in World Chess OlympiadHAVANA, Cuba, Aug 13 (acn) The Cuban teams achieved wins today in the tenth and penultimate round of the World Chess Olympiad based in Tromso, Norway, where China leads among men and Russia in the women's sector.

Cuban men's squad defeat ed 3.5-0.5 Georgia that could only reached a draw in the first board through the known Baadur Jobava (2713 Elo points), who faced Leinier Domínguez ( 2760).

The peace was signed in 43 moves of a French Defense, but this draw was not enough to emulate the wins by Lázaro Bruzón (2664), Isam Ortiz (2603) and Yuri González (2550).

Bruzón beat Levan Pantsulaia (2581) in 53 moves of an English opening, while Isam needed just 30 moves of a Sicilian defense to defeat Gaioz Nigalidze (2542) and Yuri did the same in 46 moves of Scottish opening against Konstantine Shanava (2563).

Tomorrow will be general resting day and on Thursday the Caribbean will face England for improving the eleventh seat of the standings lead by China with 17 points, one more than Hungary.

Cuban women's squad also won on Tuesday against the weak Algeria (3-1) supported by wins of Lisandra Ordaz (2345), Yanira Vigoa (2317) and Maritza Arribas (2291).

Their victims were Lylia Maghara ( 1818), Sabrina Latreche (1972) and Hayat Toubal (1938) in that order .
While Yaniet Marrero (2324) was unexpectedly beaten by Amina Mezioud (2052) in 43 moves of a Spanish opening.

Now they appear 30th , and they will rival Sweden today, while Russians, who command the standings with 18 points, will have to beat Bulgaria (15), which is seventh, not to jeopardize their leadership.
