HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 29 (acn) Cuba's Medical Services Company and the Nigerian State of Kaduna signed an agreement for exchanges in the health sector, which includes sending students to the Caribbean island to study medicine.
Once the students finish their medical studies, they will offer their services in health institutions in the Nigerian State, the most populated in Africa whose main source of income is oil, reported Prensa Latina News Agency.
The Cuban ambassador to that African nation, Carlos Trejo, attended in the signing of the accord and offered current information on the island's primary health system and the achievements of Cuban biotechnology in the world, especially Heberprot-P, product presented in Abuja, capital of Nigeria this month.
Heberprot-P is a product created by the Cuban Biotechnology Industry with healing qualities for diabetic foot ulcers which prevents amputations and improves the quality of life of the patients with the ailment.
The Nigerian Commissioners of Health, Education, Technological Science and Environment and the main Advisor of the governor in the state of Kaduna were present in the ceremony.
